Five for their Future

You can be a powerful voice in this important and timely campaign to encourage Colorado Parks and Wildlife to adopt five practical, science-based reforms to modernize their management of Colorado’s furbearers and bring balance to nature.

Beavers, martens, foxes, ringtails and more — ecosystem engineers and iconic native species to our state — are currently viewed as commodities and can be trapped without limit or oversight with the purchase of a $35 permit. State biologists have warned for 30 years that Colorado’s native wildlife would suffer under such an outdated management system. We've already lost kit foxes who have disappeared entirely from the State. A balanced approach to conservation is needed now to preserve Colorado's wildlife for future generations.

Learn more about these five critical reforms and take action to modernize furbearer management before more species are lost.
